Almonds benefit from a nutritional profile making them an essential ally in healthy diets. Consuming them on a regular basis provides the body with a cholesterol-lowering effect, helping to reduce cholesterol and the risk of cardiovascular disease. They are also a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, and dietary fiber, helping the proper functioning of the intestinal system. Among nuts, almonds are those containing the greatest amount of vegetable protein and having a high content of antioxidants, including vitamin E8 which helps protect the body against several health problems (diabetes, hypertension, cognitive difficulties, etc.).

From the Pinoso Valley rehabilitation project in Spain, NaturellementBio almonds allow small farmers to stand out in a competitive global market. This effort contributes to the enhancement of the work of almond producers and keeps the valley alive.

ORGANIC AGRICULTURE
Farmers in the Pinoso Valley had to show inventiveness and innovation in order to develop organic cultivation of almond trees in the arid climate of southern Spain. The original method consists in grafting the almond trees on woody plants, mainly prunus, which make it easy to distinguish bitter almonds from sweet ones. The result is Ecocert Canada certified almonds, meaning that no synthetic chemicals such as GMOs and pesticides have been used.

WATER-SMART
As they need less water, Guara almond trees are watered less intensively than traditional crops. In doing so, the irrigation required for the fruiting of the almonds derives mainly from natural spring water from the rains, contributing in a hydro-responsible and healthy way to the orchards of the region.
