Although the harvest of black radish is usually done before the first frost, it can do all winter in areas where the ground freezes bit. Unlike the pink radish roots store well through the winter in a container filled with wet sand stored in a cool and ventilated room. The black radish is also very popular during the cold season for its rich supply of vitamins B and C, phosphorus, magnesium and fiber. It is also excellent to drain the liver and improve digestion. This large root with black skin has a firm, white flesh with a delicious tangy taste. It is eaten raw, sliced into thin strips, baked or sautéed in a pan, in soups or stews. Like other root vegetables, this culture requires a soil containing the least amount of stones. It also happens fertilizer and produces beautiful roots in sun or light shade.
