Flax seeds are versatile in cooking. Their subtle nutty taste fits wonderfully into multiple recipes (oatmeal, muffins, salads, smoothies, pancakes, casseroles, etc.). They can also be used as an egg substitute by mixing a tablespoon of ground flax seeds with 3 tablespoons of water. Let stand the mixture for a few minutes before using it.
Flax seeds, once crushed, are an excellent vegetable source of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.
